I received a response in the mail today almost one month after I took a shot and sent submissions to two major magazines.

I was a little disappointed, but not one bit surprised. I held out a bit of hope that the topic was intriguing enough for the publication to possibly take a shot on me

But no.

It’s okay, though. The letter was very nice. Obviously the editors read my submission as they mentioned various aspects of the subject matter which proved it wasn’t just a generic “Thanks, but no thanks.”

And they said I have a unique voice.

That was the best part. I feel encouraged that someday my unique voice will be published.

And there’s another submission still out there. I’m not giving up on that one yet.

I’m not giving up, period.
